While I am pro-trade, I think this is a sensible development as it is a start at leveling the playing field for local manufacturers and highstreet businesses who mostly have a far higher tax burden than their global competitors, except the UK with which the EU has a level playing field treaty...

While this tax is targeted at the main beneficiaries of this growth (Shein, Temu and Amazon), this tax will also affect exporters in other third countries such as the UK
