Expecting a drop in productivity numbers next year…

Still need massive investments in enabling infrastructure asap if we want to make it work here. Because these incentives will mostly just help CN and KR-headquartered battery manufacturers

The fundamentals of German industrial groups were a lot stronger back then, though

You could also say that the anomaly of Germany maintaining a high industry share despite its rising GDP level is now probably over and the country will continue where it left off back then.

It is a pretty dire indictment on the quality of German policy-making if we blast billions on stay-at-home subsidies and gastronomy tax cuts.

And do nothing for our most important industry bringing in 90bn in tax receipts, other than killing the ICE phaseout cuz we want to stay in the 20th century

German auto summit tomorrow.

The sole focus on the EU combustion engine phase-out, which is 10 years away, is baffling because German cars have a demand problem today

Berlin worries a new EV subsidy scheme would be fiscally too expensive.

But demand-side support is a fiscal no-brainer here.

Sefcovic hints more probes on the way against China!

"We are of course looking at other sectors that are most affected by trade volatility and if need be, we would be acting also in in other sectors."

It’s obviously not a ‘global city’ on the level of Paris, London, etc. But still, punching above its weight

No but seriously, everyone told me about how dark and grimy Berlin was supposed to be. But it’s actually quite pleasant. Reminds me of a landlocked The Hague but more spacious. Maybe I need to see the gritty parts and meet some ‘real’ Berliners

Then, 50m ahead, some architectural ebullience that has even the most seasoned Parisians such as myself trembling with joy and disbelief

Lagarde going for the throat here: swap lines.

Analysts like to stress the impending doom of China’s rise for Western firms. But after some research into Chinese synthetic biology the past few days, it’s becoming clear that while China leads in some middle industry stuff (batteries, EVs, nuclear), key frontier technologies remain a challenge…

The only politically feasible way of fixing France’s fiscal issues is taxing very wealthiest

Maybe not the index. But there’s a lot of alpha in smaller, lesser known picks

MORGAN STANLEY: “.. it’s difficult to ignore the market’s reliance on AI capex. In market-pricing terms, we believe we’re closer to the seventh inning than the first, and several developments indicate we may be entering the later phases of the boom.” 👀

What could be more American than a silver dollar with a portrait of the President? Well, like a lot of things we enjoy here, the American silver dollar came from somewhere else. It didn't begin its life as a symbol of American pride, but of American dependence. /1 www.politico.com/news/2025/10...
