Just came across this advert from the 80s - it made me chuckle. A desk at armchair height, with the TV a good six-feet away! You can't beat a bit of "keyboarding"!

Quite proud of this. This is the original Taito flyer art for Renegade (as used for the loading screen on the Speccy version). I've had a few partial scans and B/W photocopies over the years, but finally found a dog-eared over exposed full image. Several days of re-touching and I think we're there!

More treasure from Dad’s attic; my first forays into demo programming via this little beastie!

Just found the manual in the attic if you need one!

First box of three - cleaned up a bunch of games from Dads garage and attic. The Rainbird Music System in there cost £36.95 back in 1986!!

This is the unboxed sampler I used to make the Robocop samples on the 8 bits…

More treasure to dig through when I have some time. A bazillion c64 games, source listings and bits of c64 hardware to sort through.
June 12, 2025 at 6:31 PM
Remember Robocop on the 8-bits saying "Robocop" and "Serve the public trust, Protect the Innocent, Uphold the Law"? This is the very device I sampled the speech with from a Robocop preview I recorded from Entertainment Tonight on Sky Astra! More finds from Dad's garage last night!

Sorting through Dad's garage... found all sorts... Loads of old source code printouts too - I feel I may be in there for some time!

Had some calling cards knocked up for my Retro Exploits at Zzap Live. I reckon the back gives a clue as to what I’m most known for 🤪 These bars will be on my gravestone!

Scratching an itch from 20 years ago... Box look familiar?

Here's a blast from the past... "Salary based on age and experience" - what has age got to do with the equation, I wonder? I was thirteen when I put my first game out!

When Games(tm) nailed it! We were working for Gizmondo at the time, and we all pi**ed ourselves. The Bagpus reference was <chef's kiss>

The teaser from ten years ago... Always thought this was a classic!

The poster that adorned my office door at Ocean circa 1989 by the annoyingly talented Bill Harbison @harbonaut.co.uk Even back then I was obsessed with 3D! I did once have hair!

Found an old scan of this and cleaned it up... Ste Ruddy and Software Creations' first release (through Tynesoft) - The BIG KO on BBC and C64. Ste had written the BBC version in his spare time, so I showed it to Rich Kay at Creations on day one and the rest is very much history. Super smart lad!

Just binged this. Absolutely outstanding television. The casting, the script, the acting, the locations, the cliff hangers. Beat to beat perfection. Liverpool is such a beautiful city. Do yourself a favour and imbibe every second of it #thiscityisours

Blimey, an article about me and tape loaders made the front page of YCombinator! Fame at last!
