43 years of programming games; from Vic-20 to PS5! The LEGO game guy, The Ocean Loader Guy. 56 shipped titles, 240M sales. Retro Game Code archiver/documenter. Happy Chappy. Occasional Magician. Typography snob. BAFTA member.
A quick trip to the Manchester Christmas Markets, and as I was on Albert Square, it would've been rude to not visit the old Ocean building on Central Street... Me in 2025 and 1987 Oh my word!

All hail the 6502 - #ChuckPeddleDay
Today is #ChuckPeddleDay – a celebration of the brilliant mind behind the 6502!
So dig out your 6502 computers, power them up, dust them off, or just show them with pride.
Whether it’s a Commodore, Apple, Atari, BBC Micro or any homebrew project – today we honor the chip that started it all. 🚀🖥️✨

We need more of this... Don't let our old game code disappear into the ether.
"Game preservation takes many forms, and it’s important to consider research as well as play."

Right there, plain as day. Research access to games can coexist with playing them for fun!
Open sourced Zork today opensource.microsoft.com/blog/2025/11... and ran it on a swarm of containers in the cloud 😂

Just released bc_crunch: a tiny (~700 LOC), C99 library for lossless BC1/BC4/BC3/BC5 compression.
One .c/.h pair, no deps, no malloc
GPU-ready output
Zigzag + delta + popcount/dictionary tricks
Tested
Perfect for games, procedural assets, streaming textures.

Blimey, 25 years, it feels like yesterday when we crowded around the Dreamcast to check out Shenmue. It really used the DC hardware well; a lovely looking game.
Shenmue for the SEGA Dreamcast officially launched 25 years ago.

This is one of my personal favorite games of all-time and it always will be.

Happy 25 years, Ryo. 🌸

Just came across this advert from the 80s - it made me chuckle. A desk at armchair height, with the TV a good six-feet away! You can't beat a bit of "keyboarding"!

Love this!
An animated loop basd on the games of the ZX Spectrum 8 bit micro from the 1980s

This was made in photoshop and Blender and just a fun little tribute to my all time favourite home computer

This is crazy impressive!
An impressive (and, to be honest, terrifying video).

Over 16,000 drones flew up in the sky in China, setting a new Guinness record.

Just like last year, one computer was used to manage the whole show. The system tracked each drone in real time.

Noooo! The greatest movie poster guy in the business. RIP Drew, your artwork was sublime.
RIP Drew Struzan - a man whose talent and imagination etched onto so many minds throughout the last 40+ years.

His art & posters are some of the first visuals I think of when I think about cinema - an invitation to watch these stories and worlds.

A massive loss 💔
