The KIM-1 was an amazing little machine. It ran a whole universe of programming languages: BASIC, PASCAL, FORTH, FOCAL, VTL02, PILOT, and COMAL.
But it wasn’t just about languages — there were so many practical applications too:

The KIM-1 was designed to be a practical demonstrator board for the shiny new 6502 microprocessor, but became a cult computer system in its own right.

And also availabe on Tindie is the PAL-2, a full 64 kb equipped KIM-1 clone.

Insight of the day: The crunching tool “Exomizer” is not only useful for the C64, it also works with the KIM-1. Nice surprise – old tools, new use cases. 🚀

An original KIM-1 is expensive these days. To get a clue what this computer was all about, you can emulate it - here are several emulators:
Hans Otten's Win / Linux retro.hansotten.nl/6502-sbc/kim...
John's iOS apps.apple.com/us/app/virtu...
Maksim's Browser maksimkorzh.github.io/KIM-1/

The great thing about the KIM-1 is that if you don’t have an original you can build yourself a clone. Here is a PAL-II you can find on Tindie beside an original.

50 years of KIM-1 and me

retro.hansotten.nl/50-years-of-...

I have collected some KIM-1's over the years. The first KIM-1 in 1978, and now I have nine original KIM-1s, from first edition to Rev A, B, D, E , 2x F, 2xG.

And several reproductions with 6532's as replacements.
