They owe so many writers (including me!) money. A "farewell" email that includes the line, "As a result, no further payments will be issued" when we haven't been paid for a year is absolute bullshit of the highest order.

I've been talking to a lot of people the last few days, and, in case there's any doubt, I want to be clear: What Down and Out Books is doing is goddamn shameful, and staining an otherwise really incredible legacy.

I believe in all kinds of weird and spooky shit, unequivocally, BUT I will say that if you’ve ever been walking outside when a giant fucking blue heron bursts out of a bush next to you and takes flight… well, shit, yeah, if it’d been dark I probably woulda thought I saw the Mothman too.

Stayed up until almost 2 am because it was thunder storming and leaves were falling and if you think I wasn’t going to use that exact perfect atmosphere to read ghost stories until I couldn’t keep my eyes open, you’re obviously wrong.

I know they're almost certainly all fake or have boring, plausible explanations, but damn if I cant help obsessing over supposed ghost videos on the gram.

That said, I’ve processed more than enough information in my own different way to know that Trump and RJK Jr can fuck off, as can anyone who acts like autism is something that can or needs to be prevented.

As someone on the spectrum, being on the spectrum isn’t a gift and it isnt a curse. It just means someone processes information in a different way. We don’t need to be studied. We’re not tragedies, or deficient. We’re just fucking people, trying to live our lives in a world that can be challenging.

“Lonely People With Power” isn’t the best Deafheaven album (Sunbather remains undefeated) but it DOES feature the single best Deafheaven song, “Amethyst”. Just a 12/10 fucking ripper.
