I’ve rambled about this before but of all the many facets of fascism shown in 1984, it bothers me that everyone latched onto “surveillance bad!” as the moral of the book and completely ignored the bit where they reduced the English language specially to make it harder to formulate improper thoughts

Stop making serious issues sound less serious by banning the real heavy words. They’re not the issue

They've patched all the workarounds we used to have to enable local account creation at Windows setup instead of being forced to connect to the internet and sign in to a Microsoft account. They claim if you skip that part, you're "skipping critical setup steps".

Microsoft forcing users to sign in with Microsoft account for new Win11 installs is so on-brand for them, especially with their lies about how "you're not doing it right" if you set up a local account

like go fuck yourselves. y'all literally designed this OS to work like that originally.
