I’m an NSF panel reviewer that was scheduled to meet today. Just got notice that all NSF panels were canceled today. I reviewed some innovative proposals in support of students. Devastating if these scholars don’t get to do this work. For the love of science & students I hope this is just a delay.💔

Today at #PAG32 we are learning from @jeanmichelane.bsky.social about atmospheric nitrogen fixation in corn aerial roots. Even some #Sorghum aerial roots have bacteria that can fixate nitrogen!!

🚨After 3 intense days reviewing 229 applications to the lab, only 20 candidates will be contacted for the next steps. This inspired me to create a short guide & podcast episode to help students in applying to grad school.

Today at #PAG32, @kcox-bioguy.bsky.social used a great and unique analogy comparing spatial biology with LEGOs! Just like LEGOs, spatial biology involves assembling pieces to build a complete picture of life’s architecture.
