There absolutely have been MASSIVE TOS updates

Most notably:

1) Specifying no FICTIONAL noncon
2) No "dangerous" kink
3) No DISCUSSING self harm, suicide, or substance abuse unless its "educational"

Oh you assumed the cartoon character getting plowed is consenting because they look happy? How naïve. They're pretending because they were coerced by the other character. There's actually untold amounts of abuse happening to cartoon characters behind the scenes. We must take waifu welfare seriously

One of the first thing they did early on was ban any drawings that had faces where the staff considered them too look too young to the staff looking it over, i won't be surprised if they ban more stuff or outright ban sexual content altogether

A lot of people forget but a lot of the current staff was the old twitter staff, and old twitter was going down the tumblr road before it got taken over.
I personally felt like this was coming, but more than anything I'm surprised it took them this long to act on it
