It literally made me quit watching baseball. Haven't watched a single game since.

I often think of that game. 108 years building a tradition, becoming bigger than the game by embodying everything great about baseball, becoming *the* example of hope for hope's sake, and throwing it all away for something as stupid and fleeting as triumph.
