I get that it's easier to diffuse blame over millions of faceless people into whom you can impute any motive you want, than to confront the abject failure of the candidate you invested so much in. But shoehorning your own grievance into everything just makes you come off as a spiteful little freak

All else aside, why post this? A genuinely moving and hopeful account of a community standing together in the face of oppression, and this is how you choose to respond? Isn't it exhausting being this consumed by resentment?

If the Dems held a majority in the Senate the military budget still would have passed. Because a majority of Senate Dems voted for it. So how would taking back Congress help here?

Congress gave the military a $900 billion budget barely a month ago and a majority of Senate Democrats voted for it

I don't think you're quite grasping what a protest is. Why would I stage a protest in favor of a policy my government already supports?

Huh, apparently kicked a hornet nest with this. A lot of people are getting really riled up over an internet cat gimmick account with 71 whole followers. Stay safe out there everyone

The majority certainly are. But a non-zero number either didn't vote or voted third-party, I'd wager mostly due to Harris's support for the genocide. Are their contributions less valid? Should they be sent home from the protests, or their food and medical aid donations turned away?

I'd start with the community in Mpls who are tracking ICE patrols, calling for ad hoc protests, disrupting raid attempts, and forming mutual aid efforts to help keep their neighbors safe. Much of which is being led by local electeds. Strategy doesn't begin and end with national elections

If your position is that responsibility for the Current Moment is ultimately individual and not systemic -- that voters (and non-voters) are the most to blame for Trump's misdeeds -- congratulations! You're a conservative

The election was over a year ago. The fascists are at our doorsteps at this very moment. What's your strategy now? Because saying "I was right all along" doesn't do much for the people currently being brutalized, abducted, and murdered by ICE

Not a question of offense, but if your goal is to fight fascism, shouting "fuck you, you had this coming" to anyone who didn't vote for Harris doesn't strike me as a particularly effective strategy

You're aware that Minnesota voted for Harris, right?

That's right if there's anything to learn from Nazi Germany it's that we need to vote to keep the fascists out of power. Hey quick question who appointed Hitler Chancellor in 1933

No you see she meant for that to only be deployed against the imperial periphery, there was certainly no chance of it ever boomeranging back onto the imperial core
