Laguna is a very interesting little dude. He loves affection but doesn’t really hang out with people when given the option. He doesn’t dislike the other kittens but it’s clear he’s still figuring out what play is & how to interact with them. He keeps to himself for naps. Sweet little weirdo. ❤️

Another intake tonight from Final Fantasy colony. This total sweetheart of an orange is probably either Mama Spot’s brother or possibly a son (but probably brother). He has an icky upper respiratory infection, a wobble and a head tilt, so he’ll be going to the vet tomorrow.

Say hello to our first rescue of 2026, a very skinny little boy from the never-ending Final Fantasy colony. Unlike a lot of these FF colony kittens who have required a little bit of work by the time they are this old, he is apparently so relieved to be in a warm and friendly lap. Look at this boy!!

Our three Shakespearean ladies are doing amazing after just a few weeks with the wonderful @fluffandwobbles.bsky.social , who has a way with these shy types. No barn homes needed for these nice girls! Juliet is an absolute lap baby and Beatrice and Ophelia are continuing to be more sweet every day.

In a sea of 2025 impact wrap-ups, here is ours. It’s little, and a few cases left me a bit broken, but it’s still good.
Last year we took 80 cats into our care (not including cats we TNR’d). Almost all of them were adopted (still waiting for the Auto Club cats). Rescues, surrenders, low-income help—
Jorts Junior, “J.J.”, a cute orange tabby cat with soft looking fur and suspicious looking eyes. He was our first rescue of 2025. He was adopted with Baby Ruth, and they are both living their best lives as Archie & Greg. Winter, a skinny grey and white kitten. He was being sold on FB because the people “didn’t want him any more” and it stressed the entire internet out. He was adopted by his foster through Animal Rescue League near Baltimore in a great team up with Show Your Soft Side and ARL Satsuma and his sister Tangerine, two orange tabby cats who look very worried right after being trapped. Ellie, originally named “Molly,” a longhaired tortico cat with long white whiskers. She remains missing in the SE DC/Temple Hill, MD area. Her moms miss her so much and so do we.

What I would love more than anything for the holidays is for our two most shy mama cats to find their forever homes.
Porsche, mom of the Auto Club kittens, since May this year.
Shoyu, who is the mama of last year’s wonderful little grass Miso & Dashi, has been in our rescue since October *2024.*

Little Ru had a squinty eye the other day, and despite lots of prompt eye antibiotics, it decided to turn into an ouchy ulcer on his cornea so we went to the vet for some serum. He felt safe up here and was very brave when they had to shoot the scary stain in his eye. Probably got poked by a sibling

I’m in my feels today as all my remaining bottle babies have gone into adoption centers and I do not have my snuggly babies at home & I’m just very emotional that sometimes I wish I could just be a helicopter dad & keep them all safe with me always.
