Organisers of the Flowers for Beth and Dear Rose campaigns.

We encourage gentle and respectful community support and solidarity for trans people who are pushed into the public eye via litigation.

Solidarity, always.

We ask that, when you see a serious allegation against a trans person in the press, you remember Dr Upton's case.

We all have a right to be heard in court and judged on the merits of what we have actually done, not the perceptions of people who cannot see the good in us.

Bailey didn’t link to the judgment in her tweet.

It’s here:

Very expected. Perhaps not the balloon arch, but everything else.

Our (layperson) understanding is that much of the judges ruling on Dr Upton and her credibility is based in findings of fact and thus not appealable unless new evidence comes to light.
Sandie Peggie’s lawyer confirms she will be appealing the “highly problematic” tribunal decision - Peggie herself says “I won’t be giving up the fight anytime soon”

According to The Telegraph, a press conference from Sandie Peggie and her legal team is expected sometime today.

All the claims against Dr. Beth Upton failed.

She’s entirely vindicated and her evidence was found more reliable.

Let’s see if a single paper actually represents that fairly…

Flowers for Beth is still here! We apologise for the delay in posting a PO Box address- we had to take steps to protect the safety of our volunteers after we received some very passionate hate mail. 🌸

We are not deterred, it has mostly been a logistical headache. We will have it up by Christmas.

This week two legal judgements, concerning employers based in Scotland, have shown that employers are not obliged to exclude trans people from facilities that align with their gender.

The ruling of Sandie Peggie v NHS Fife & Beth Upton has confirmed much of what we already knew and hoped the court would recognise.

A great many of the narratives that were shared about Dr Beth Upton, her behaviour and her notes simply did not hold up to scrutiny from the court.

If the reporting on the Peggie decision tells us anything, it should be that the way news gets reported in this country has little to do with truth, and much more to do with narrative - as well as whose heavily spun press release lands on journos desks first.

In @yougov.co.uk polling of the trans community, to the best of our knowledge the first of its kind ever conducted, an astonishing 84% said Britain is “fairly unsafe” or “very unsafe” for trans people.

The expert witness presenting information for the Darlington Nurses employment tribunal is criminologist Dr Jo Phoenix.

As of yesterday, the last of the nurses have now testified. We have listened carefully while keeping in mind what was said in the media before this case started.

So did the lawyer acting for the trust. Let's take a look:

At the Darlington nurses tribunal tomorrow, Karen Danson will be the first witness.

Karen has PTSD from childhood sexual abuse, details of which may well be deemed relevant enough to discussed extensively in court.

Please inform your loved ones who may need to limit their news intake. 🕊️

We have published a small open letter to Rose alongside our statement today.

We trust that she is doing what is best for her wellbeing & request that others do the same. We will continue to follow her case closely & work with the local LGBTQ+ community.

We’re united in rejecting discrimination against the trans and non-binary community. We refuse to let our voices be used to divide. This is our moment — and we’re heading for 50,000...and beyond! 🚀💥

📢 Here’s how you can help us get there...

Our understanding of this statement is that Sandie Peggie wants Beth to be legally forced to make a statement that she was complicit in harming Sandie for whistleblowing and personally pay her money for hurt feelings.

This is not over for Beth - therefore, it is not over for us.

We’re at Manchester Trans Pride today. Ready for the march and out, proud on the streets. We’ve got a stall in Manchester Art Gallery from 2pm so do come and say hi.

Wait, there's more! Here are the demands Sandie Peggie has made.

She wants Beth to personally pay her and make a "protected disclosure detriment" declaration alongside NHS Fife.

A 'Protected disclosure' is otherwise known as whistleblowing.
August 2, 2025 at 9:51 AM
We need to talk about what happens next for Beth.

The tribunal will reconvene on September 1st & 2nd for verbal arguments from the lawyers. While the judge could deliver a verdict on the spot, he is more likely to take several months to respond in writing.
August 2, 2025 at 9:37 AM
Thank you to the approximately 1300 people who have talked to us and received cards over the last few months. We know you are still waiting for a PO box address and ask that you hang on a little longer.

Due to some safety issues, it is taking longer than expected but we are still going! 🌸
