As a lapsed Catholic, for me, Pope Francis introduced layers to a religion I'd grown up in, was unsure of, and became even more critical of in adulthood. He opened up different conversations on faith and care than I was used to hearing in church growing up. I'll be thinking about that a lot.

I’m really not one of those people who wants to homeschool my child because I don’t trust schools, but I do wanna homeschool my child because I don’t trust *parents*. The topics my kid randomly talks about, because other five year olds are talking to him about them, are WILDLY inappropriate.
