I wish I could read tonight and escape the heaviness we are all feeling, but I can't concentrate. My brain and emotions are fried. My heart hurts. And the only thing to make me laugh today is the look my dog gave her dad when he attempted to take her toys off the bed.

The news has been really heavy, and one of the only things making me smile outside of my pups, is the increased wildlife hanging out in my yard. We had eight deer out front at one point on Saturday. Today, we had 16 squirrels running around. The crows have visited too. It’s all day every day.
