However, once #SpookySeason rolls in, it becomes something darker and foreboding.

AI investment really is based on wild, baseless speculation. The returns are well in the negative, uptake minimal, and cash-burn phenomenal - so even with this many suckers (albeit of phenomenal wealth), it's going to run out of steam very soon.

This is standard fare - politicians go around in hi-vis clothing and/or hard hats, and get photographed pointing at things (which may or not exist).

It's supposed to give the impression that they're "doing something", progress is being made and they're getting stuff done in some vague fashion.
