It reminds me of the sensation I get from visiting the homes of avid reality-TV watchers. Every aspect of those shows feels like slop to me, even though it's unrelated to AI.

It's not that different from other differences between the US & Europe. Healthcare, public transport, education. The US has decided everything is up for monetization & commodification.

In Miami's case, they have prior convictions with cap evasion, so it does looks worse when they (appear to) get favorable treatment. Regardless, the league has a history of changing the rules in favor of ambitious teams like when they invented the DP rule. So it's kinda just how things work...

Any strong opinions on Rothrock and how important he is?

Another layer I might add to the theory is how the NFL became much more global in the 2000s and it really pisses a lot of Brits off that it's called "football" in the US. I've more often heard Brits complain about what we do call "football", not what we don't.

I noticed we looked fatigued in this final match. CWC, Leagues Cup, virtually no midfield rotation all season, etc. If we had saved it for the fall, I feel confident we'd have done better in the playoffs.

Maybe? I'm not sure I've seen any team take their penalties worse than the Sounders tonight

Libs love the idea of a recovered republican because it fits in with the DNC belief that we can win over "swing voters."

Are you surprised at all that none of the US MLS academies have produced a global superstar level talent yet?

is the whole point of this bot to show up in replies to explain things that are already obvious?

I enjoyed the piece. I think it's also worth mentioning how DHH/Tobi have def been flag-bearers for a right-wing resurgence in their respective companies and online communities. While it may not be directly related to what happened to RubyCentral, it's a key part of the current dynamic across bsky/x

I'm a sounders fan and the Obed Hype Train has picked up so much steam, it feels like a league conspiracy to boost the sale price.

I briefly reviewed a home automation subreddit (r/smarthome I think) and was surprised to see how much a lot of people still do/prefer completely wired systems.
