Children in cages returns to the UK?
Child detention and forced removal is back:

There's a coalition that can defeat fascism
Same in the UK and like the Democratic Party leadership the leaders of @teamlabouruk.bsky.social don't get it either. They must stop scapegoating migrants and like @lucympowell.bsky.social says stop trying to out reform Reform
NB @zachpolanski.bsky.social
AOC: We have a future to fight for, and we're either going to do that together or you're going to be left behind. It's not about Progressive. It's not moderate, it's not liberal. This is about do you understand the assignment of fighting fascism right now? And the assignment is you come together…

AOC understands "the assignment of fighting fascism" is what matters and there is a coalition that can win that fight. Antipathy towards the Democratic leadership is because they don't get that, they prioritise centre-left V left.
Victories for Spanberger, Sherill alongside Mamdani make it clear

There is no silver bullet to reducing the number of people stuck in hotels, but by fast tracking claims and providing asylum for those from high grant rate countries, providing those seeking asylum with the right to work, and investing in community schemes this government could make a difference.

This is completely in line with a PM and government who have chosen to fight fascism by being racist/xenophobic and scapegoating migrants themselves so of course they can't call out these hateful fascistic policies.
Duplicity has become Starmer's main feature.
How does this timid quote tally with what Keir Starmer said in his speech - and in his interviews - just a fortnight ago?

The Guardian must stop platforming this Putin and Trump superfan
They are lending credibility to the dangerous ignorant content of the article and destroying what is left of their own reputation as a source of serious journalism

This and other utterances from this man go a long way towards explaining how Starmer’s Labour Party are now where they are as an unapologetically racist xenophobic government

It is insane to me that the richest man in the world is using his global megaphone to call for millions of British people to be rounded up and deported (including my family) and somehow this isn’t even news.

History demonstrates that trying to find common ground with authoritarians fails and just makes them stronger. Authoritarianism has to be firmly directly opposed by anti authoritarianism.
It appears Starmer's catastrophic & morally repugnant strategy is coming from his own authoritarian tendency
When centrists adopt far-right rhetoric, they don’t make themselves stronger. They make themselves look inauthentic, legitimise the far right, and shift the political debate onto terrain defined by their opponents.

Which kids' futures? Because of your racist/xenophobic campaign linking immigration & illegality you are making the future for the children of migrant and non white families unsafe destroying their potential and quality of life. Presumably you mean "white" native born children

I know some of you white centrists have a hard time believing middle class professionals like Keir Starmer can be racist but if you actually talked to people of colour you might understand that it’s more common than you’d think

Politicians and pundits alike are trying to get immigrants killed in the streets and you British citizens are just letting them get away with it.
Opinion: The past decade was a masterclass in how to misread a nation. If Sir Keir Starmer doesn’t want to gift Britain to Reform, he needs to prove fast that he can be tough and effective on immigration on.ft.com/47dejup

Having read his X posts for the last couple of months it has become clear that he is a racist/xenophobe and that when he refers to working families he means white working families. The left have always had a racism/misogyny problem, he is the culmination of that and is the death knell of Labour

That Farage/Jenrick have whipped up racist/xenophobic hate towards "hardening" the public's attitude is what fascists do but to have a @teamlabouruk.bsky.social Prime Minister joining in is shameful and disastrous for, the country, and most of all by now for understandably terrified migrants
August 21, 2025 at 10:26 AM
Farage/Jenrick and other fascists have spent years lying about unregulated migration calling it illegal so that migration/illegal have become synonymous for the public.
Worst though is that Starmer has spent weeks amplifying this Big Lie. To have a @teamlabouruk.bsky.social PM do this is a disgrace

First they came for the Trans
It has all the chilling hallmarks of the Gileadisation of the US. They are installing Christian fascism and the guy who is set to replace Trump if he is unable to see out his term is their leader in waiting
1. In an alarming move, the Trump administration has banned trans coverage for federal employees and their families, including youth and adults.

It mandates faith-based conversion therapy coverage.

It is one of the largest removals of coverage in the US.

This is a massive indictment and warning to the media and politicians but most of all to the Kier Starmer's government. He is still posting daily on SM echoing the rhetoric of fascists and failing every time to make clear the distinction between regulated and unregulated immigration.
New YouGov polling. A monumental failure of our political class to educate, a monumental failure of our media to report fairly, for a generation
