People, calm down about Blue Prince not getting the nomination for GOTY: see, the GOTY nomination is done by rolling dice and Blue Prince just didn't draft the right path to the nomination on this run, it can try again next year.

By pure coincidence I flew out of PIT today and rode this train and I did NOT get one of these stickers, and I have never been so upset in my entire life.

Counterpoint: this was not a lie in any sense. It was absolutely true.
The greatest lie the 80s told young computer users is that programming would be as magical an experience as the programming textbooks of the 80s promised.

My favorite story about my late dad is that he got kicked out of a casino when he was around 10 years old on a family trip because he was calculating the odds on the slots with a pen and paper.
going to Vegas a few times as a child really was such an effective way to learn early that there is no glamour or honor in gambling

down that path lies merely lung-cancer induced tracheotomy holes and the most embarrassing genuses of divorce
Sounds like being in Circus Circus in 1991.

can we agree that the medieval "dancing plague" is CLEARLY bullshit that never happened ever, and we all just pretend it did because some moron fucking monks repeated the myth and our society's systems are engineered to make us believe religious people when they say things that are clearly false.

Maybe 15 years ago my credit card had a thing where you could go to their web site and generate a new virtual card number and say "This number can spend up to $53 and no more" and this was the height of all human technology and I'm absolutely furious that no one supports this any longer.

It would be extremely funny if every time Fetterman got gently bopped on the head he switched from having extreme right-wing views to left-wing views and vice-versa.
John Fetterman was transported to a hospital this morning after falling and hitting his face.

Docs discovered he'd had a ventricular fibrillation flare-up, a form of sudden cardiac arrest. His office says he's doing well and “receiving routine observation." www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-...

Hey @opg.bsky.social I regret to inform you that on Edmund Fitzgerald day I have decided that AI is good actually, because it answered this question (and I don't really care if it's wrong).

Me, an Idiot: when I can buy more things that means I am more prosperous

You, a Genius: actually being able to buy more means you’re poorer.
people buying piles and piles of cheap shit isn't economic prosperity. hedonism treadmill lmfao
i wish it was possible to peer into the past to see if this hedonistic treadmill was as severe in past generations

like were people in the 1940s smugly talking about how the spread of electricity isn't good evidence of economic prosperity

This property is assessed at only $537,800, which is a goddamn war crime. This is prime commercial real estate in one of the best shopping districts in the city. This shouldn't be assessed at a penny below $2 million, but Pittsburgh's broken assessment system incentivizes leaving it vacant.
How about we just get the Eat n' Park back?
