Microscopia has more on offer than is listed as available on the website. I was in contact for an SZX12 but was able to get it from a different source.

Prices can get much lower if you go to the real used market (ebay and specialized forums) but I guess you need a source acceptable for uni?

I have not dealt with microscopia (yet?). no experience there.
They however also have the Leica successor to your M5

mikroskop-online.de/mikroskopver... is a german seller of used microscopes that I have dealt with (and it was OK). He also has some systems on offer with a trans-illumination base

Olympus had the SZH/SZH10 (predecessor to the SZX) research microscope system that has a transillumination base with supposedly good characteristics. It comes up in the used marked regularly at ok prices.

What is the thing you are looking for especially? The trans-illumination base (e.g. with different lighting options)?

Ah ok. Danke! An der Strategie sind wir wohl nicht so wirklich angekommen demnach hatte ich das Problem nicht.

Warum die "Erweiterungen [...] als Must Have"? Was übersehe ich?

About a cup of water (80-100 ml with a syringe) directly after adding the bread to the oven (at 275/250 °C. Creates instant steam without too much temperature drop.

That's essential for a good crust when breaking bread.

Thank you Fay!

this is the final processed* result.

printed @ 300 dpi it should scale to 1.4m on the long side.

*the background is filled black where image tiles are missing**.
** I usually don't like cleaned microscopy images but here it seemed necessary to fill.

Sure - I want to image stuff that knows up and down from the side.

Also I want to avoid turning mirrors in the optical path if possible because they add complexity. So basically just tip the whole setup of a microscope 90° so the stage travelling is upright (up/down-left/right).

If I keep it horizontal I would need one stage axis as focus/z which I do not know how to implement in micro-manager (is it even possible?)

Done.

this should have been a reply.
Up and down we go.
It would be nice to automate this - I have not yet found a good way to synchronize a prior stage and the wemacro rail.

Its semi-manual at the moment.

I can nearly hear, smell and feel the first photo! Great pictures - thank you for sharing.

This is something I would like to do - at least for the ones where I'm quite certain with the ID.

File size is pretty high obviously. 11-50+ mb depending on compression.
