Banning words like #burger or #sausage for #plantbased products is unnecessary and counterproductive.
This vote shows a worrying disconnect between policymakers and citizens. There is no confusion among consumers—only confusion in #Brussels.

One of the busiest #cycle routes in #Cambridge, used by 3,000 cyclists at peak times, will be redesigned into a “Cycle Street” to prioritise #cyclists and #pedestrians over #motorists.

You might think that the mayor of Yellowknife, the capital of Canada's vast Northwest Territories, would be a fan of giant pickups.

Nope. He's disgusted by car bloat.

I was on Any Questions last night. I think it was a good discussion, which became quite fierce at times.
We debated the vile attack in Manchester, the right to protest, the Tories' crazy climate stance and how to rescue politics.

“For the past 2 decades, scientists have…landed on the same takeaways—esp. that rich countries must shift their diets to be more plant-based. But that message has, with few exceptions, failed to incite action by governments and food companies, or even the environmental movement itself.” #EatLancet
The rich must eat less meat
Scientists say rich countries need to eat a lot less meat. Will the environmental movement finally listen?

#ULEZ works.

For the first time ever, London has met legal limits for nitrogen dioxide.

When I became Mayor, we were told it would take 193 years. We did it 184 years earlier than expected.

Cleaner air means a healthier city and big savings for the NHS.

Folks — this is not a normal government shutdown.

Let me explain the stakes and how we got here.

Over the past 20 years, #Paris has undergone a major physical transformation, trading automotive arteries for #bike lanes, adding green spaces and eliminating 50,000 #parking spaces which has significantly improved air quality.

“Air pollution fell substantially as Paris restricted car traffic and made way for parks, people-streets and bike-lanes.”

Better for the climate, better for health, better for livability & quality of life.

Common sense.

Such a no-brainer, it’s remarkable that more cities HAVEN’T done the same.
Paris said au revoir to cars. Air pollution maps reveal a dramatic change.

Over 89,000 #electric #trucks were sold in the first half of 2025, up 140 percent from the same period last year. #China accounted for almost 80,000 of those, with sales in #Europe making up most of the balance. #US sales shrunk to just 200 units.
earthsciinfo.bsky.social
Globally, the future will be #electric for heavy duty trucking. But in the US, federal policies are doing their best to throttle progress. That is not market savvy and it won't position US manufacturers to compete in the global market. #ClimateChange is real 🧪🔌💡☀️💨🌊🔋 cleantechnica.com/2025/09/23/e...

Sales of heavy duty electric trucks are exploding in some countries but imploding in others, proving that policies matter.

Brilliant from @kevinclimate.bsky.social as always - making abundantly clear the inconvenient truth this Govt is forever trying to duck & dodge: expanding aviation capacity is fundamentally incompatible with the UK’s climate obligations

Critics of renewables often point to land use as a reason not to invest in wind & solar. Land use IS a real issue for all energy assets incl renewables (unless on-site).

But what critics conveniently forget is the huge land impact of fossil fuels. Aerial view of fracking sites in Wickett, Texas. 👇

Yet another climate-wrecking decision from a Government intent on the pursuit of growth at all costs - but the only things that will grow as a result of this disastrous decision are pollution, noise, and climate chaos

There has been strong opposition against the airport wanting to use its northern runway.

ICE cars waste ~80% of fuel as heat, noise & friction. 🔥 EVs flip the script: electricity flows straight to the drivetrain, no messy conversions. With regen, 87–91% of energy drives the wheels. ⚡ That’s 3–5× more efficient, cheaper to run & cleaner for the planet. 🚗🔋🌍 #EV #Efficiency #Future #LFP

It doesn’t matter if you’re working class or a billionaire: climate change will hurt your grandchildren.

That’s why I cannot understand oil executives who sacrifice the planet’s health for their short-term profits

We must transform our energy system away from fossil fuels NOW.
