A bit of a jumble at the moment, really. Writer? Landscape. Poetry. Wrote some books about Glaciers, now writing one about Lakes. My circus, my monkeys. Haiku. Two cats and a collie. Retired UK Geography lecturer & NTF. Around 53N, 2.7W.
For me they have some great moments and add up to something special, but also have long sections in the middle that I find less inspiring. It’s quite a time commitment to read the whole thing.

Isn’t it funny how different people like different things! I really like Gormenghast and Titus Groan, but just can’t get into Titus Alone, the third in the series!

The #FirstBirdOfMyDay today was a Tawny Owl, entertaining me with his call somewhere in the nearby countryside as I was lying awake in bed at 3am this morning. Or perhaps he was the last bird of yesterday.

My organisation isn't that logical. I put an explanation on my blog. petergknight.wordpress.com/2025/11/05/h... Some shelves are logical, but mostly the organisation is based on where the book fits into my personal history: where I got it, how long I've had it, who gave it to me...

Yes that can be a problem - re-reading can take you back to the time of the previous read, and that might not always be good.
