ICE pepper-sprayed this 1-year-old girl.

Once at the hospital, the doctor had to call in a poison control specialist.

They had never seen anyone that young pepper sprayed.

Another horrific story.

More details below.

The “leave it to the states” party turned into the “deploy the military on local governments who don’t agree with us” party real freakin’ quick. It’s *almost* like the whole “small government” bit was a lie the whole time. Go figure.
Leavitt: "These are the bad guys that we are picking up in Washington DC every day. The president would love to do this in every Democrat-run city across the country."

It’s insane that in 2025, a Supreme Court justice is cool with pushin’ this shit out like a damn Facebook post: “If you’re here legally, just prove it, bro.” I wonder how many times Kavanaugh has had to prove he is here legally while handcuffed by unidentified government enforcers. I’d guess zero.
This is a paragraph Brett Kavanaugh wrote on his little computer and then sent out into the world:

Justice Sotomayor is crystal clear in dissent as to what's happening: "We should not have to live in a country where the Government can seize anyone who looks Latino, speaks Spanish, and appears to work a low wage job. Rather than stand idly by while our constitutional freedoms are lost, I dissent."

From today’s @bostonglobe.com. I’ll link the full article below, but for those who hit a paywall…

“Velchik — who holds two degrees from Harvard, one from the college and one from the law school — was the sole lawyer arguing the case for the White House in July.”

You really can’t make this up.

NEW—Earlier this evening agents from ICE/other fed agencies were outside Rhode Island Ave metro in DC asking people exiting the station for their IDs, per someone who experienced it. When the person presented their Real ID license, an agent said that wasn't sufficient. Luckily they had secondary ID.

The Democratic Party constantly has to answer for a random, anonymous social media posts from accounts with eleven followers. The Republican Party, on the other hand, hasn’t had to answer for anyone or anything since Richard Nixon.
the right wing media ecosystem is so efficiently set up to take random posts from non public figures and turn them into pseudoevents. to the point where the entire social media system rn really just favors their viral propaganda machine.
Since Monday, Fox News has spent an hour and 25 minutes covering an American Eagle commercial in which Sydney Sweeney talks about her “good jeans,” and just 3 minutes of coverage to developments in the administration’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein saga.

The only relevant inquiry when you’re a Republican candidate or nominee is whether you’re loyal to Republicanism.

When you’re a Democratic candidate or nominee, there are a million different boxes you have to check—and not being “too liberal” is the most important.
If we survive this, there is going to be a real push from liberals for the next Democrat in the Oval to go scorched earth and simply nominate the most ardently ideological, brazenly partisan judges.

Not even offer up a fig leaf of bipartisanship. Just ram through whoever you want, at any cost.

An outcry from bettors has caused some top GOP lawmakers to rethink a provision in Trump's bill. Some say it was sloppily added. Others say they didn't even know it was in the legislation.

The Trump admin in a nutshell; in order to justify their own mistake, they’re going to release a violent felon with five deportations so he can testify against the guy with no criminal record they mistakenly deported.

In other words, the story is always more important than the principle.
The Trump admin has freed Jose Hernandez Reyes because he can testify against Abrego Garcia.

Hernandez, who has been deported 5 times, has also been arrested for:

—DUI w/ a handgun;
—cocaine possession;
—illegally transporting migrants; and
—drunkenly firing a gun.

Star witness against Kilmar Abrego García was due to be deported. Now he’s being freed.
Jose Ramon Hernandez Reyes is a three-time felon released early from federal prison to a halfway house in exchange for testifying against Kilmar Abrego García.
