In a nutshell, the Dem lodestar should be: "ICE is bad, and immigration is good"
My theory of the moment: The extraordinary courage of ordinary people in places like Minneapolis is reawakening us to our social and economic ties to immigrants. It's making "love thy neighbor" cool again. That's the ultimate antidote to MAGA hate.

Thoughts on this:

it's funny in a way, but the rubio speech is an AI-quality imitation of an Obama speech, but with ethnonationalism replacing pluralism. It's as if the prompt were, "write me an obama speech but make it white supremacist." Hasn't been president in a decade but they're still biting

Maybe, but I’m extremely skeptical of an article relying on James Carville, David Shor, and Lakshya Jain to make the case.
This slogan—[X] is not truly a red state; it’s *really* a nonvoting state—is plastered all over the social media pages of local chapters of the Democratic party down in the South. Is it true?

Some Democrats insist their path back to power will come through higher turnout. The facts say otherwise.

OK. It was The Smoking Gun. They deserved for me to remember their name. I plead getting older.

I bring them up because what they published shows what was publicly know about Jeffrey Epstein and when, which is important to evaluate the character of the people dealing with him in the 2010s.

Trying to remember that small online journalistic outlet that used to publish primary documents, often leaked, that was one of the first to publish the police reports from the early 2000s Jeffrey Epstein investigation.

A former Democratic colleague of hers once told me that Susan Collins is “usually there when you don’t need her and never there when you actually do.” The moderate brand she projects is entirely performative. It’s always surprised me that Maine voters don’t seem to care.
Thirty years of concern. Never enough courage.

Apparently there’s grocery inflation discourse again, but as I’ve been buying groceries for other families during this crisis, often under duress, it’s brought me out of my own optimized grocery spending habits, which rely heavily on Costco. And damn, there is a huge price to pay for being poor.

It's galling to contemplate but I really think you have to admit that Musk buying X was an unqualified victory. It can't be exaggerated just how much prominent journalists, pundits, business type, etc. mistake the vibe on X for "how the country is feeling."

The Dow was at 43,488 when Trump took office. It just hit 50,000.

So if you had invested $43,488 in the US, you would now have $50,000. But if you had invested the same amount in the rest of the world, you would now be worth $60,000.
