And seals has more vocalization in their tone. They are usually more quiet than sea lions.

They sound completely different. Sea lions do this stereotypical „Arff Aff“ sounds or do other barking sounds.

A sea lion can walk on land bc they can rotate their front and back flippers (they have also bigger flippers than seals)

The easiest way to if it’s a seal or sea lion are the ears. Seals has no visible ear flaps while sea lion those.

I lowkey hope not bc I love seeing silly photos and videos of them two but on the otherside i know it‘s the best for them. But yeah lets see if they are really capable living the wild.

They are both friends bc they are the only seals that is staying on then sanctuary for a long time while other seals got released. Last summer they got a confined area in ladoga lake so they get used to the wild. If they are successful they will release them to the wild.

Same story with Shlissik. They found him as a pup on a drifting ice near Shlisselburg. They tried to release him several times but he is causing havoc so they decided to keep him there with Kroshik.

So they brought him back to the sanctuary a few weeks after his 2nd release. They are currently trying to release Kroshik for third time bc he is losing interest in humans currently but they have to teach him how to hunt.

Oh boy. Let me tell you about the different seals that lives im sanctuaries and zoos. They have so much lore. My favorite seals are the two russian lagoda seals Kroshik and Shlissik.
