Imagine if you grabbed a crowbar and went outside right now, pried up a slab of the sidewalk, threw it away and planted a beautiful garden there instead. If you were Dutch, it’s welcome — and good for the planet.

A big day with Kiefer and Van Gogh. The immensity and the intimate. I am full and grateful.

An extraordinary and devastating installation by Alfredo Jaar at Kesselhaus at Kindl Berlin. The giant hall is darkened and lit with saturated red. In the centre a small plinth on which sits a tiny stack of the 10 earth minerals needed for all renewable energy technologies. A terrible catch 22.

A few images from yesterday. Visiting my beautiful first born, El at their studio at UDK, Berlin. It was a moving for me to see them in their work space and to remember my own transformative time at art school and all that the studio is. A place of possibility, excavation, struggle and discovery.

The Monarch #butterfly embarks on one of nature's most incredible journeys, migrating up to 3,000 miles from #Canada to central #Mexico. These tiny travelers, with wings of vibrant orange, navigate the vast distances using the sun and Earth’s magnetic fields, defying the odds

I am a traveller but I’m very content just lying in bed watching the morning light travel across these walls.

I am back in Berlin to be with family and to look at as much art as I can. Spring is here, the sun is shining and random flowers are blooming in unlikely places.

This work of mine is now on show at Grafton Regional Gallery in a superb show, True North curated by Christine Willcocks. Here also are hanging fabric work by Emily Imeson, video work by Jay-Dea Lopez and extraordinary totems by Lae Oldmeadow. So much other great work as well.

It was amazing to see this piece of mine again after some years. It now resides in a beautiful new home overlooking the Pacific. I was moved by its beauty but I remember critiquing it so harshly when I was making it. This moment was instructive. So much difficulty I can create with this mind.

We know who the villains are in this coup. But so many heroes are showing up to oppose them, and many of them are federal employees, including judges. I give you supreme boss-hero champion Judge Ana Reyes, telling Team Trump they don't know shit and schooling them in the facts about gender and sex.

I appreciate gestures of love of all kinds at all times of year but the glorification of romance feels problematic to me. So here are some beautiful words by the even more beautiful Alok.

And here are the other two album covers that feature my work. It was a lovely honour to give something back to this band. Their music has been a constant for me, especially in the studio, for the past 30 years. Soundtracks to life.
