Custom Robo uses a similar formula to mainline Pokemon games, with the RPG story/adventure elements happening in the over world and battles against NPCs...but instead using real time 3D fighting mechanics!

Sonic Adventure 2 has some of the best writing in fiction. Shadow, an artificial life form based off the Super Sonic prophecy in Sonic 3, uses the real chaos emeralds. However, Sonic who is real, draws out the energy from a fake chaos emerald and escapes death. The duality is insane. 2 much to type.

Nobody ever has this take and tbh it expresses why horror is my favorite genre. You will never run out of rabbit holes to go down.
Ngl it's sad people reduce the horror genre to being cheap or lacking in potential, there's a huge catalogue of myths and cyptids and even existential horror you can dive into, and some of my favorite games and movies ever made are horror. Not everything is cheap jumpscares and crappy gorefests.
