So this is Bluesky. Seems like a good place to be right now.
To be fair, most of us fascinated by the possibilities of the former, also bemoan the avoidable tragedy of the latter.

#Trump
It's become a country (government) I don't even recognize. He, and his insanely poisonous regime, cannot be gone fast enough.

Vote out all corrupt politicians. No exceptions. It’s not just that the people participating in this are corrupt, they definitely are, but the entire system also incentivizes corruption. It’s cheaper to buy legislators than it is to pay fair taxes.

Poverty is a policy choice. Concentrated wealth is a policy choice. Inequality is a policy choice. None of it is natural or inevitable.

We have the power to build a system that serves the many, not the powerful few.

Democrats must remember this — and act on it.

And there was a reason why America once placed such a high priority on education, and free press, because in informed electorate is necessary for a functioning democracy.
There’s a reason the political right wants to keep people dumb.

They seem much more interested in Old Testament smiting than in the teachings of Jesus. It is a constant source of bewilderment to me that Christian voters are taken in by this hypocrisy--unless they are hypocrites themselves.
Doesn't it strike you as strange that the people who shout long and loud that America is a Christian nation founded on Christian principles are the very people who don't want Christ's teachings of tolerance, pacifism, and generosity codified in law?

This cartoon from the Gilded Age shows what his goal is.

Bernie Sanders: "We need to be thinking seriously about a moratorium on data centers. You gotta slow this process down. It's not good enough for the oligarchs to tell us 'you adapt.' Are they gonna guarantee healthcare to all people? What are they gonna do when there are no jobs? Make housing free?"

Bravo! One reason that I am ambivalent about Christmas (aside from it being an orgy of obligatory consumerism) is that everyone feels good about behaving on the one day the way they ought to behave the entire year. Like charity at Christmas excuses you from having to be charitable in your daily life
So this taking food to the homeless thing... my wife and I did it for Thanksgiving, and now we've done it for Christmas as well. But what about the other ten months of the year?

We've given it some thought and some discussion, and we're going to do this every month from now until we can't anymore.
