The Israeli army carried out air strikes across eastern and southern Lebanon on Friday, in violation of the ceasefire agreement.
This came after the Israeli army said it targeted a vehicle in Lebanon near the Syrian border on Thursday night that killed a member of Iran’s Quds Force.
Israel and Hezbollah reached a ceasefire agreement in November 2024. Since then, Israeli air strikes have continued almost daily, killing more than 330 people.

I remember the phrase "they can't be allowed to melt back into society" re: the de-Baathification of Iraq after the war there. Like everything about that experience, the attempt was cynical, stupid, and botched. But there really should be a plan about what we do with guys like these in the future.
