These stats are frankly bonkers. If anybody is complaining about why they are waiting to see a GP. They need to ask why successive governments have not supported the same growth in GP numbers as it has hospital medic numbers.

Winter crisis - GPs are not to blame

20% more appts with 20% less funding than 2016.
With 1/7 of population waiting for hospital treatments or investigations they are overwhelmed with work.
GPs now have 2300 patients up 500

Funding not matching demand & some GPs unemployed

Blame MPs not GPs

The problem isn’t equally distributed either

Poorer areas and more deprived areas have fewer GPs per head of population

They are more likely to have more complex health needs and die earlier

The media rhetoric about GPs being lazy or unavailable needs to stop 🚨
