I know nothing. I am but a little child.
Words appear on a screen.
Changed my icon because I believe in Sesame Street and to show how old I really am. Also, the new sleep specialist is awesome. That's life, how have you been?

Things I did last week:
Had some really good soup
Had a couple of naps
Petted the cat several times
Looked into the abyss of time
Spent time on hold with my local pharmacy about my sleep medication refill
Listened to music
Wrote things down
Erased most of those things
Applied for jobs
Had more naps

Annoying thing: when your sleep specialist closes and you have to find a new one or you will literally Get None Sleep Ever Again.

Oh goody. Because I just love breaking in new doctors.

So today I found out that a friend of the family was banned from Targets in TN for ... wait for it ... stealing a bookcase.
How can you do this? How can you steal a bookcase? Is this one of those 'whoopsie, I forgot to pay for it when I walked out' sort of deals? Or is it somehow more complex?

Time to subtly mess with my mother-in-law's head by playing Quebecois Christmas carols all through her Thanksgiving phone call. (She once insisted that @tallin32.bsky.social 's French wasn't nearly good enough to do translation verififcatiations for his job, even though he took five years.)

The Pentagon has now failed the seventh audit in a row.
Somehow I don't think it's going to get better from here.
We could have had top-notch universal health coverage with the $824 BILLION they LOST UNDER THE COUCH CUSHIONS. *seethe*

My primary concern about RFK’s nomination is his belief that disability & chronic conditions are the result of controllable factors like vaccines, environment, etc. Disability is part of the normal human condition, and ignoring that fundamentally harms the civil rights of people with disabilities.

Watching old Perry Mason episode:
Perry gets the woman to smell a piece of evidence.
my brain immediately jumps to an old George Carlin routine.
"Smell it!"
"It has absolutely no aroma."
"It's good! Put it back! Somebody's saving it!'
"That's what frightens me."

RFK’s elevation is going to be such a disaster for the autism community. Divisive. Fraudulent. Abusive. Ignorant. Dehumanizing.

RFK Jr. may want to take a break from studying infectious diseases, but needless to say, infectious diseases aren’t going to take a break from us.
RFK Jr.: “Thank you [to the NIH] for public service. We’re going to give infectious disease a break for about eight years.”

Kennedy wants to take a “break” from studying infectious diseases like COVID-19 and measles.

RFK Jr. comes ‘home’ to his anti-vaccine group, commits to ‘a break’ for U.S. infectious disease research
He has suggested without evidence that researchers and pharmaceutical companies are driven by profit to neglect chronic conditions.

We're now 2 weeks away from #Thanksgiving and I don't want to see any mention of 'guilt,' 'falling off the wagon,' 'cheat days,' any verbiage that implies you are 'bad' or that you 'get to have' food or that you have to 'earn' your food or 'atone' through exercise. Food is awesome, full stop.

I would love to tell you about the times vaccines prevented me from getting sick, but every time it happens, I don’t notice. I just keep feeling well.

Neither do you.

You know how they tell you to turn your engine off at gas stations because there might be a spark? Well, does that count if you use a power wheelchair? I'm curious about that, because there's a gas station across the street, and I pass that thing all the time.
