The valley fog didn’t reach in as far today. It made it up Deer Creek to the dam. The Deer Creek drainage was filled and you could see the valley floor socked in stretching to the Coastal Mountains. This view looks over the Sutter Buttes.

For the last few weeks the valley tule fog has been lingering in the foothills. I thought I would take a look above it here in Penn Valley. This was shot at noon as the fog rolled in thru the Deer Creek Drainage. Yes , I added the sound , don’t want to scare anyone!

Folks are remarking on how this persistent Central Valley fog is "unprecedented." But that is *very* far from reality! While Nov is fairly early season for this pattern, dense & frigid "tule fogs" actually used to be *more* common, lasting days or even weeks in decades past. #CAwx

Yesterday, we honored the firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice protecting Californians.
Since 2002, more than 1,500 names have been added to the California Firefighters Memorial in Capitol Park—including five from CAL FIRE this year. Their courage and service will never be forgotten.
