Excited to share the cover for Danny Phantom: Fair Game! Danny now finds himself in an upside down world where Valerie is queen bee again-- can they put aside the past or will old ghosts tear them apart for good? Due out Nov 4! Preorders are now up!

Links and full wraparound cover in thread!
Danny Phantom dodges into the foreground away from Valerie Gray, who holds a crackling anti-ghost net. Behind them Wulf howls at the moon, baring his claws and fangs. They are set in a dark forest at night, illuminated by a full moon.

my hands are shaking with rage and grief. i shouldn't have to do this. the edited text on this image should not exist. this should not still be happening in 2025
a panel from my entry in Samidoon. it is sepia tone of a palestinan family walking. the caption reads "in 2024, the images from inside Gaza echo my family's storie from Palestine. the walk away from our tattered homes looks the same as 50 years ago." the 2024 is crossed out witht 2025 written next to it. my hands are shaking with rage and grief as i type

A great piece that hasn’t aged a day since 1941.

Play the game the next time you’re in a room full of people. I’ve played it. I think for some people it’s almost a reflex. “Which one of you would call the Gestapo on me, and which would watch, relieved, as I was taken from my home in the night?”

Every few months now I re-read this "Who Goes Nazi?" piece from 1941 and am blown away by how it captures the people we are dealing with 80 years later.

nearly twenty years ago, i moved from birmingham, alabama to college station, texas. a year after that, i wrote a one-act about myself, lonely & lovelorn, talking to a figment of my imagination. the star of the play, in the role of my male self, was a boy i'd had a crush on.

one year ago today, please be my star was released. my debut fiction graphic novel -- a love letter to those two years in college station, to my teen self, to my love sergio diaz, & to many other moments in my life. a beautiful synthesis of many, many moments in my youth in texas. i'm deeply thankful for everyone who red & enjoyed or thought deeply about the comic. i'm especially thankful to everyone who shared their thoughts & feelings about the book -- with me or otherwise.

it's selfish to admit, but at times i'm pretty solemn about how please be my star has been treated out in the world. people have sent me wonderfully kind messages, and people have also written very disparaging & dismissive reviews.

it's all very confusing to take in.
"which is it?" i wonder. i'm well aware it's a weird book; a weird book is exactly what i intended to make.

so, all i can hope is that i'll be able to make comics like this for the rest of my life. i'm incredibly grateful & happy i got to make please be my star.

to those of you who have held it, for any length of time, in your heart -- i can't thank you enough.

happy birthday,
please be my star

Danny: Tucker, how could you pick Hillary Duff when Ciara and Mariah Carey exist?
Sam: Could you HAVE more corporate musical taste?
Dark Danny, in shades in the bg: It's not even Duff's best album!

lmao in my head they are still in the mid 2000s but we have had to blur the line a bit. They could still have socials/smart phones in 2008-10 so I'm leaning toward that.

Sam, Tucker and Danny argue over their favorite albums (Nine Inch Nails, Hillary Duff and Green Day respectively) while Danni sits in the middle of the fracas sweating profusely.

Shana tova u’metuka / Good and sweet new year this Rosh Hashanah

Did you know griffins were important symbols for Medieval German Jews?
A drawing of a griffin holding a spoonful of honey surrounded by oversized apples and pomegranates. The Hebrew text reads in English "good and sweet new year"
