Cool I don’t this one! I will check it out thanks.

But …fine grained connectivity seems to have little to do with cytoarchitecture (see Gou et al 2025).

Open Neuroscience need our support!!

NWB ecosystem hold promise for future discoveries in Neuroscience and has been pivotal for the community.

@openscience

NWB just turned 10 years old! Researchers worldwide have downloaded 1.9 PB of NWB data from @dandiarchive.org. This animation shows the reach of NWB, facilitating collaboration across the globe. What impact has open neurophysiology data had on your science? Share your stories! 🧠

This has been a blast! Such a treat to be hosted by @hhmijanelia.bsky.social at this workshop by organized by @nwb.org! Re-analysis of open-data form @dandiarchive.org with so many talented scientists has been so much fun!

It feels like you are onto something (need to read your book)! The field needs theories and models to be put out there, to be tested, and be dropped or propagated. What we refer to as emotions can be put into math the same way we deal with other brain « functions ». We will learn from this process!

The main project from my PhD, in collaboration with Manuela Allegra and @schlab.bsky.social is now available as a preprint! We wondered how the hippocampus and the visual cortex may differ in the way they refine sensory inputs into internal representations
Task engagement differentially drives hippocampal and neocortical neural codes
Sensory inputs are progressively transformed into internal representations of the environment along the cortical hierarchy. How does the behavioral relevance of these inputs affect this encoding? Usin...

I am extremely grateful and beyond happy to share that I have been awarded an @inserm.fr #ATIP-Avenir fellowship to start my own lab to study neuronal circuits for auditory categorization! Thanks to everyone who made this possible.

Yes! I was mainly curious about spike interface.

Thanks for sharing this toolbox! What is the required input data format? Any sorter will do or does it need to be Kilosort?

In case this is helpful for anyone, here is a post on how to get a job in french academia : trialsanderrors.substack.com/p/getting-a-...
Aimed at non-french scientists who are curious, but french ones may find it useful too.

Mice also squint more over the time course of the repeated air puffs. That could be the « state » that we track down with single unit activity…..
pierrelemerre.bsky.social
Interesting. We observed similar shift of inter-trial activity between air puffs in a previous study: www.nature.com/articles/s41.... No humans and no Ketamine in there, only mice. But we can trigger the same shift with subcortical stimulation (hypothalamus/habenula projection).
Esr1+ hypothalamic-habenula neurons shape aversive states - Nature Neuroscience
The authors find a surprising diversity in hypothalamic neurons projecting to habenula, and using patch-sequencing (Patch-seq), identify an estrogen receptor-expressing neuron type that signals aversi...

The suggested experiments were also incredibly naive and simplistic to me…. I.e. if region A lights up theory A is true, else if region B lights up B is true….like really?

Feeling pretty good today! I got accepted at CNRS (section 25)!! Congrats to the other candidates too!

Interesting indeed! So we loose the retinotopy as we go frontal. I wonder why is it so « slow »… Do we see here network activations (i.e. polysynaptic) in Frontal regions following monosynaptic input?
