Hell, my mom has childhood memories of seeing "whites only" signs a whole decade after the civil rights act.
This is an example of how nostalgia for the old days is simply nostalgia for when you were younger.
The idea that America was a post-racial society in the 1970s/1980s only makes sense if you were literally a child at that time and couldn’t observe what any adult was experiencing.

Dog's had diarrhea lately so we've been keeping the patio door slightly open at night so he can slip outside. Can't have him shitting in the house. Woke up this morning to find a dove came through the crack we opened and couldn't get back out. Naturally it shat everywhere.
