The excerpt reads: I belong to a particular generation of women - our last child is nearly out the door and our days of mothering are almost over. We may still be working - but ahead of us a space is opening, and the poetic projects too long delayed are now within reach. And then it begins... the role reversal where we find ourselves looking after elderly and declining parents.
