I'm on the 'Gram and Green Archer are the real deal. Not just putting their money where their mouth is, but highlighting vital books that lousy people didn't want you to read.

Great comics. Strong spirit.

Not all heroes wear capes.

...but I think these guys do.

That's a nuanced point!

Probably in serial format I'd have been a lot more forgiving of them because I wouldn't have still been in my seat waiting for them to get to wherever the heck they were going.

Well...I do have a different set of eyes than some at the movies. And, y'know, the villain literally wore sequins. 😅

The only thing that disappointed me was the constant travel scenes. So much walking, driving, and horseback riding when I wanted more flexing and punching.

Had a good time with it.

So...for the last two years 100% of the books I read were ebooks. This year, I just pulled out my first paperback in I don't know how long.

I'm excited. But I'm scared my crummy eyes can't handle the font size.

Ebooks aren't lesser than physical books for those of us with bad eyesight.

The joke in Vermont is most Dunkin' takes you longer to be served than at a sit-down diner. I've never disliked the coffee because, well, coffee, but I never make them my first choice. 🤷

I've never tried it out of state because a lot of other states allow me to choose Tim Horton's instead.

I CHOSE TO CUT THE MOTHERFORKER BECAUSE IT WAS A GATDAMN KNIFE AND NOT A SHOVEL! WHAT LUNATIC DIGS WITH A KNIFE? 😭

I'm so glad you agree! I'm going to quit writing men's adventure fiction to devote my time to promoting the well-being of all cannibals! The white ones in makeup, the brown ones in makeup, even the American ones.

Join me in my crusade.

I found buttons.

Legendary coffee...huh.

I always figured Maxwell House was mainstream-brand standard...and better than Dunkin'.

Maybe I don't dig it because I can wait 15 minutes for a cup of coffee at Dunkin' or drive to a nearby gas station and get the same cup in 30 seconds from a jug labeled Coffee, Hot.

Oh yes. Hence the new house name for the author. This one might even do numbers over at Smashwords for being porn-y. 🤣

Yuuuuuup...I used the knife. 😡

Oh gawd, I'm so glad I didn't make it to the end last year. You would have heard my scream all the way from your living room.

I'm a mild Doc fan and saw the film at Pulpfest this year. Glad I didn't see it as a teenager. Wouldn't have appreciated it.

Shocked that no one making the movie was gay, because the queer subtext was deliciously OtP to me. Many lingering shots of Ely shirtless and very chaste even as a PG movie.

Ugh. That second one is beyond frustrating. Any job is more than one aspect. If you were stellar at that one specific thing but not at any of the rest, where would that leave anyone relying on you?

Fingers crossed for a good result from the positive interview. 🤞

*put out

I sounded like an Evinrude for a minute there. 🤣
pointofimpactbooks.bsky.social
I mean, I know where I'm supposed to take the bait, but instead I question the presence of Dunkin' on this list.

What product do they manage to put put that is good? 🤣

I know all of youse has already pre-ordered this brilliant anthology filled with brilliant writers.

But what about your families or your coworkers?

Shouldn't they have a chance to be happy?

Tell them to pre-order today. Or better yet, take their credit card and do it for them.

They'll thank you.

#31DaysofHorror Day 8

THE BLACKCOAT'S DAUGHTER (2015), Osgood Perkins

A perfectly doom drenched trip if your vibe is hiding on picture day in a bathroom with blinking fluorescents, a creaky echo through empty library stacks or a lone footprint edged in muddy melt slowly filling with falling snow.

Look, it isn't every day we get to see a faithful Cannibal Husband, happily married to Mrs. Cannibal, raising Cannibal Junior, and probably working a 9-to-5 cannibal job eating Italian tourists.

I'm all for representation. 😂

...you're telling me I deadended without ever realizing it. I remember that plant. I guarantee I yanked it wrong.

Those old adventure games HATED the player.

If Jigsaw really wanted to be sadistic he would have made his captives play Space Quest III for their freedom. 🤣

The soon-to-be released first book in our new Adult Western series. Looking like a December release, we hope. The last couple chapters are in need of editing and then some formatting.

All the usual action, four times the smut, and a dangerous amount of historical accuracy!

You mean Return to Zork? *le gasp*

I tried to beat that one again last year without a guide and failed because the game let me throw away essential items with zero warning. Classic Zork move. 😆

I still greet strangers with the line, "Want some rye? Of course ya do!" 🤣
Cover for Return to Zork, featuring a crack that reveals a blue light. An old man sits in his cabin drinking home made whiskey. You want some rye? Course ya do! A man in a light house awaits your questions. Three crates sit on a ruined floor in a ruined house, the sky visible through the shattered roof.
pointofimpactbooks.bsky.social
I should clarify...did you beat ANY Zork game? They were all dastardly, as I recall. 😂
