The tribal nation that calls Yosemite National Park its ancestral home has reclaimed a stunning piece of its historical territory with the acquisition of 800 acres along the edge of the park.

I rescued this little girl as she was scurrying across the parking lot at work. Released her in a nearby retention pond. I can tell it’s a girl because that’s the same look my daughter gives me when I tell a dad joke! #snappingturtle #nature
