GOTV! Elections in Alabama, Missouri, and Florida today! Read about these elections and help spread the word.
GET OUT THE VOTE
SEPTEMBER 30TH ELECTIONS
There are a number of special, primary, and recall elections happening TODAY across several states. If you're in one of the following states, make sure to get out and vote!
Alabama Florida Missouri STATE HOUSE SPECIAL PRIMARY
A Republican primary election is being held for the Alabama House of Representatives District 13 seat. The seat was vacated after Republican Rep. Matt Woods was appointed senator for the State Senate District 5.
The candidates on the ballot are Greg Barnes and Dustin Beaty. The Democratic primary was cancelled after no candidates filed.
With no Democrat in the race, the winner of the primary will be the presumed representative for the vacancy.
Polls will be open from 7am to 7pm. Florida is holding two special primaries for State House District 90 and Senate District 11.
The State Senate seat was left vacant after Gov. Ron Desantis appointed Sen. Blaise Ingoglia as Florida's Chief Financial Officer.
The State House seat became vacant when
Rep. Joe Casello passed away in July.
The Senate District 11 Republican primary's candidates are Anthony Vincent Brice and Ralph Massullo Jr. Democrat Ash Marwah ran unopposed and has already advanced to the general election.
The House District 90 Republican primary's candidates are William Reicherter and Maria Zack. The Democratic primary election was cancelled and candidate Rob Long advanced to the general election.
Polls are open from 7am to 7pm. MISSOURI
JACKSON COUNTY RECALL
After a last minute appeal by Jackson County Executive Frank White Jr. to block the recall election, the courts have rejected it and the election will proceed as normal.
White is up for recall due to several contentious measures. The primary issue is a 2019 property assessment process that caused massive jumps in property values across the country. The issue escalated even further in 2023, after average values jumped 30% and an investigation showed the assessment department did not follow the law during the assessment process.
White's refusal to address the issues caused by these property value increases led to a petition for his recall, which received enough signatures to go forward.
The ballot will only have a Yes or No question about whether White should be recalled.
Polls are open from 6am to 7pm.

Every school, every hospital, every camp destroyed - every life ended - was made possible with the financial and rhetorical support of the United States. "For all these reasons, Trump's second coming can't be understood without turning our gaze outward, toward a broader geography of U.S. state violence...For fifteen months (at the time of writing), Palestinians and their allies protested relentlessly and, at times, heroically, not only to stop a genocide but to salvage and preserve core

Image of protest sign reading: Block Fascism Now. Title: Breaking News: Trump declares antifa a terrorist organization. Text: On the afternoon of Sept. 22, Trump signed an executive order declaring antifa a terrorist organization. After blaming the far-left for the killing of Charlie Kirk (despite no evidence), Trump is now using the shooting as the reason for going after the left and getting rid of his opponents. There is no legal framework for the president to designate a domestic group a terrorist organization. This only applies to foreign terrorist organizations. Furthermore, antifa isn’t an organization. It is an ideology, a decentralized network of people fighting against fascism. Unless Trump comes up with some sort of mechanism outside of the law, he does not have the authority to do this. However, this does mean that Trump as grown bold enough to make a move towards criminalizing political ideologies (and anyone he deems an opponent). The order calls for all relevant departments and agencies to “utilize all applicable authorities to investigate, disrupt, and dismantle any and all illegal operations [...] conducted by Antifa or any person claiming to act on behalf of Antifa.” This includes anyone deemed to be funding or providing material support to anything deemed an antifa activity. Given the broad language used, the order can be used against anyone deemed to be using antifascist language, which can be anything they want it to be. Additionally, it targets those who have been obstructing ICE operations. We knew this was coming. We knew that Trump would eventually go after anyone who speaks out against him, his cronies, and the entirety of MAGA. Sure, there’s no legal precedent, but that has never mattered to this administration, especially with the Supreme Court giving Trump the greenlight to do whatever he wants. This will only embolden anyone who relishes in making “the left” suffer. It will only continue to strip away our First Amendment rights. It will be used to make an enemy of anyone they want to. Now is not the time to back down. That’s what they want. They want us to be afraid, to comply, to let them rule without consequence. Don’t stop resisting.

While it's difficult to trust the Democrats anymore, it's imperative that they extend these subsidies. Healthcare costs are going to double, if not triple, without them. The American people are already suffering enough.

Congress won't be in session until Sept 29th so we can only wait and see.
Title: Failure in the Senate. Text: The GOP spending bill passed on to the Senate with a 217-212 vote. The only Democrat to support it was Rep. Jared Golden of Maine. However, on Friday, September 19th, the Senate rejected the competing measures, sending them back to the House. The Democrat’s measure received more votes (47-45 along party lines), though this was due to Republican absences. The Republican bill only received 44 votes, with support from Democratic Sen. John Fetterman. But 48 voted against it, including Republican Sens. Rand Paul and Lisa Murkowski. Source: AP News Title: What's Ahead? Text: The House and Senate are out of session until September 29th because of Rosh Hashanah. House leadership advised that no votes would take place on the 29th-30th, which pressures the Senate to approve of the GOP measure to avoid a shut down. Democrats demand that negotiations happen on the bill, backing Schumer’s call for a shut down if they are refused. It’s unlikely a Democratic spending bill would ever pass the Senate or how a shut down would benefit them. However, it would show their constituents that they are focused cutting healthcare costs. Until then, we can only wait and see if they stay true to their convictions. Source: AP News

Republicans are up to their usual deception. With a government #shutdown looming, they are doing what they can to force their spending bill through.

Democrats are threatening to force a shutdown to get #healthcare subsidies extended.
Image of Mike Johnson speaking. Title: The Government shutdown standoff. Text: As per usual, the GOP is using the fervor of the current news cycle to sneak in another spending bill which ignores the livelihoods of the American people. If a provision is not passed by the House and Senate by September 30th, a government shutdown will commence on October 1st, the beginning of the government fiscal year. Democrats are threatening to prevent the provision from passing if their demands are not met. Historically, Democrats have caved to GOP provisions to avoid shutdowns. Source: AP News Title: The GOP's Offering. Text: The spending bill would fund federal agencies until November 21st, which would, allegedly, buy time for the two sides to work out their fiscal differences. Republicans are claiming the current provision is clear of partisan policy, like that of the Big Bullshit Bill. The most reported addition would be $88 million for boosting security for government officials. The reason being increased safety concerns over the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Source: AP News Title: What's the hold up? Text: Democrats are pushing back against the bill for a number of reasons. Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries released a joint statement this past Tuesday saying House Republicans refused to work with Democrats to draft the bill. Another reason the Democrats are threatening to refuse supporting the bill is that it doesn’t address the healthcare cost crisis looming over Americans. Source: AP News Title: Focus on healthcare. Text: Democrats want the measure to include an extension of the Biden-era tax subsidies for low and medium income families who get their health insurance via the Healthcare Marketplace. They also want the Medicaid cuts from the Big Bullshit Bill reversed. America has long suffered a healthcare cost crisis, even with these subsidies. However, between those ending and the looming cuts to social programs, premiums will skyrocket, some as high as 50% more. Source: AP News

The Heritage Foundation is the true domestic terrorist.

Trans people are people. They are real. They deserve to be recognized and to live peacefully.

This is not a false alarm. Protect the trans folks in your community. It is a necessity.

Heritage Foundation has released an absolutely insane policy proposal to label all trans people as domestic terrorists. It uses completely made up instances of terrorism and made up statistics but facts don't matter to them.

They want us all eradicated.
Page 1:
Flyer from The Heritage Foundation Oversight Project titled “Transgender Ideology-Inspired Violent Extremism (TIVE): Background and FAQs on Need for an FBI Domestic Terrorism Designation.” The page defines “Transgender Ideology” and “TIVE,” outlining beliefs allegedly associated with them. It claims such ideology justifies violence against opponents or frames opposition as violence. The text references the alleged assassination of Charlie Kirk, urging the FBI to classify TIVE as domestic terrorism. Page 2:
Continuation of flyer with a section titled “Recent Instances of TIVE-Motivated Acts of Domestic Terrorism.” Lists multiple violent events from 2018 to 2025, attributing them to transgender ideology. Includes mugshots of two alleged attackers. Followed by a “Frequently Asked Questions and Key Terms” section, addressing whether transgender people are terrorists, comparing TIVE with “Nihilistic Violent Extremism,” and discussing FBI designations.
Page 3:
Flyer continues with questions about Antifa and FBI terrorism classifications. States that Antifa and TIVE are separate categories. Lists ways the FBI classifies domestic terrorism and identifies typical characteristics of “TIVEs,” such as targeting Christians, mental illness, and online radicalization. Includes images: a “Trans Antifa” logo, a pink-blue-white-striped slogan image reading “Protect Their Right to Exist,” a photo of Audrey Hale with a firearm, and a close-up of a magazine with the words “Where is your God?” Page 4:
Section titled “Terminology Used by TIVE.” Defines terms including cisgender, deadnaming, Gillick competence, misgendering, “Right to Exist,” “Trans genocide,” and a phrase “You either have a live boy or dead girl, you choose.” Each is presented as terminology used in or associated with TIVE.
