#OtD 7 Jan 1913 a strike for the 8-hour day began in Peru after workers rejected proposals from employers. In El Callao, there was a total stoppage of industry as gasworkers, mill workers, typographers, bakers and other unions came out on strike stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/1070...

Butker should step aside. Make his wife a sandwich. He should realize his life really started when he became a husband and a father. He should give up his day job. He should realize he’s been told diabolical lies — his place is in the home.

Government is supposed to work for the people. Thanks you, @governorwalz.mn.gov. May all the rest follow.
As of January 1, Minnesotans won’t have co-pays higher than $25 per month for prescription drugs used to treat chronic diseases, and we’re putting a $50 per month cap on all related medical supplies.

We’re putting the wellbeing of our people before the profits of big pharma.

“At a time when our politics is poisoned by cruelty, hate and malignant narcissism—and where too many self-described Christians appear driven by grievance and self-righteous aggression—the good works of Jimmy Carter offer a necessary reminder…of humanity.”

The reason the 5th night of Chanukah is my favorite (in addition to it being my birthday!)

It's the first night that more candles are lit in the Menorah than unlit, showing that even if progress may seem slow at times, eventually light and good will win over dark and evil!

Rest in peace to Submariner LT James Earl Carter Jr, USN (Ret). Carter, the only U.S. President to graduate from the U.S. Naval Academy, leaves a legacy of service. The USS Jimmy Carter (SSN-23), a Seawolf-class fast-attack submarine, carries his name in honor of his dedication to our nation.

Please remember that President Carter appointed more minorities and women to the bench than all previous presidents combined. He was the first President to embrace the concept of bringing racial diversity to the federal bench. A key aspect of his legacy.

"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others”

For me, nobody epitomizes this quote better than Jimmy Carter.

Rest in peace, good Sir.

May your character, compassion and deeds inspire generations to understand the true meaning of a life well lived.
