Hi new followers! We're an award-winning human rights charity fighting for migrant rights since 1983.

We do this by providing free legal advice, giving community support, and campaigning for change.

When politicians seek to divide us and treat migrants with cruelty, we refuse to accept it.

📢 "The hundreds of signatures on this letter shows that health workers will not stand for these harmful, divisive and xenophobic policies. Instead, we want to foster a society that is inclusive, compassionate, and welcoming to all, not just today or around elections, but every day”

EXCLUSIVE: Over 800 NHS workers have signed our letter with Medact, saying the “already strained NHS would crumble under the pressure” of Reform’s proposal to scrap Indefinite Leave to Remain and Labour’s planned restrictions on migrant workers.

Campaigner Olivia called for shorter routes to settlement & to scrap NRPF at the Green Party Conference.

📢"I believe we're all human beings. What is happening to migrants can happen to anyone. You don't plan it, but anytime, it can happen to you."
Thanks to @carladenyer.bsky.social for chairing.

Just days after Kier Starmer branded Reform’s plan to scrap ILR as 'racist' and 'immoral', it’s hard to call today’s announcement anything else.

His message here is that some people are less deserving of fundamental rights than others - that inequality is lawful.

It seems Labour have now learnt the word 'racism', but this is utterly disingenuous given how they are pandering to Reform’s far-right agenda.

Labour can't out-Reform Reform – it needs to change tact
The Labour Party can't out-Reform Reform, and if it genuinely wants to choose ‘decency’ over ‘division’, it needs to change tact.

'I'm looking over shoulder for fear of racism after Farage's disturbing plan'
Two women who have lived in the UK for years are now looking over their shoulder for fear of racism amid Nigel Farage’s targeting of migrants

Keir Starmer's call for unity rings hollow. Under his leadership, rampant racism has gone unchecked.

It's disingenuous to talk about growth & belonging whilst also announcing tougher immigration rules that create a two-tier system and will devastate our economy.

Scrapping Indefinite Leave to Remain or making it harder to get - like the Government has just announced - will devastate our NHS.

It punishes people who’ve already been part of our communities for years.

Indefinite Leave to Remain is the backbone of belonging.

100% agree. @barnardos.org.uk & @praxisprojects.bsky.social told #Lab25 that proposals to double settlement requirements to 10 years would push more children into poverty for longer.

🚨 The Government wants to crash the economy.

On the very same day the Prime Minister finally distanced himself from Reform UK’s policies, his own Home Secretary announced proposals that would create a two-tier society.

No one should have to risk their life to seek refuge. No one should face deportation for trying to claim asylum here in the only way that is available to them.

We welcome the safe arrival of the family of three who have become the first to do so under the new “one in, one out” agreement with France. But let’s be clear: their safety should not come at the expense of others.

Permanent settlement in the UK helps people put down roots in communities and fulfil their potential. But Reform don’t want that.
