The only political party whose policies are in line with the recommendations made by Praxis. Lib Dems close. Everyone else miles away and actively working against our charitable objectives.

"We absolutely need to stop the boats,” Polanski said, “but let’s stop the boats by offering safe and legal routes to asylum and not having people clinging on to dinghies for dear life.*

And we will be running a workshop on Sunday at 1:30pm on messaging and myth-busting - for all those who want to know more about migration issues

There will be a quiz 😀

These performative policies are not bad because they are 'unworkable' or because we 'need' migrants, it is because they are cruel and will break up families 💔

“My husband, who is Turkish, has applied for ILR and will hopefully be eligible for it next year...Would a Reform government insist that my husband has to take my children when he is deported or would they be allowed to stay?” Josephine, Head of Advocacy

What are Nigel Farage’s immigration plans – and do his sums add up?
Reform UK leader’s hardline plans were lauded by rightwing press. But are they coherent and will they save money?

🔈 Tackling the far-right starts with making your #WordsMatter

After a weekend of far-right violence, pushing back against #disinformation is more important than ever. So, let's start by unpacking the dehumanising term "illegal immigration". buff.ly/QaR41WV

No human is illegal ✊

The pull factor is a myth. Evidence from countries like Germany and Canada, which grant earlier work rights, shows no correlation between work access and the number of asylum applications.

People seeking asylum are driven to move by safety concerns, not employment opportunities.
gpmigration.bsky.social
A better solution is available... Allowing asylum seekers to work would help restore their dignity and sense of purpose. Being barred from working can lead to frustration and feelings of isolation. The right to work should be viewed as an essential human right.

As the Home Office announces a "nationwide blitz" on undocumented workers, read my latest on why it won't work.

Very glad to hear the Deputy PM commit to reading my report 'No Way Home?' - after decades of taxpayer money wasted and lives ruined by the failing Home Office, it's time for a new approach. Read the report: carladenyer.co.uk/no-way-home/

Whether for love, work or to flee danger - people move. Always have and always will. It's the govt's job to make it work - but instead the failing Home Office wastes taxpayer money treating migrants like criminals. Time for something new - my report with
‪@zoejardiniere.bsky.social‬ out today.
Quote graphic with text reading: "The Home Office has lost the trust of all major stakeholders and must be radically reformed if it is to have a hope of rebuilding confidence". Then block text saying "No way home? It is time to remove management of immigration from the home Office" with text below reading "A report by Zoe Gardner, commissioned by Carla Denyer MP."

"The answer here is for the government to actually tackle inequality."

@zackpolanski.bsky.social makes the case for proper investment in our public services, not more demonisation of migrants.

Kenmure Street, Glasgow. Four years ago.

Ordinary people stopped what they were doing to protect their neighbours. No strangers.

Happy Kenmure Street Day ✊

When will Starmer learn that no matter how good his Nigel Farage impression gets, it won't save him from wipeout at the hands of Reform? Here's another idea - how about doing the work that's needed to actually make people's lives better? 🧵

Starmer's Britain.

Not even subtle.
They found ourselves made strangers in their own country. Enoch Powell. We risk becoming an island of strangers. Keir Starmer.
