The official CCP history's assessment of the 13th National Congress: "Under new historical conditions, we may find a new path for Party building—one that relies on reform and institutional development rather than political campaigns."

During the CCP's three "rectification" campaigns in the 1980s, 33,896 members were expelled, 90,069 members were denied registration, 145,456 members were given deferred registration, and 184,071 members were disciplined.

The poet Cao Cao, upon witnessing the massacre in Xuzhou by the warlord Cao Cao's army, wrote a famous poem:

"White bones lie exposed on the field,
No rooster crows for miles unsealed,
For every hundred, one remains,
Those who recall it feel heart's pains."

Is it a mistake on this testing website or a failure of the GFW that OnlyFans is actually accessible in China?

In 1953, Mao Zedong suggested Chen Yun use a towel to alternate between hot and cold water to rub his body, as a way to stimulate the skin’s capillaries. He also pointed out that Lin Biao’s poor health was due to him not following the doctor’s advice.

In 1966, the United States obtained the photo of Beijing's urban area taken by reconnaissance satellites.

1/2 I’ve always believed one thing: if a statement still makes sense after you swap out the subject, you should question its validity. For example, take the last sentence of this article: "The fever has broken, yes, but the infection will be tough to cure." www.foxnews.com/opinion/woke...

I completely agree with Žižek's statement that whether or not one supports Ukraine is a marker of whether someone is truly left-wing. As for this guy who claims to have founded the Communist Party of the United States and equates Ukraine with Nazis, what more can I say?

I haven’t started reading it yet, but this book is definitely worth checking out because it's the sequel to *The Singularity Is Near* from 2005. I’m really looking forward to it.

I just discovered a strange bug (or feature) on Twitter. After I protect my posts, I can't read others' quotes of my own tweets. It's a weird thing.

1/This reminds me of the critique of the "才子佳人" trope in Dream of the Red Chamber, Chapter 54:

"From the very first, they canvass the families of the gentry. If the paterfamilias isn't a president of a board; then he's made a minister. The heroine is bound to be as lovable as a gem...
1) Poetry and calligraphy as first impression, or stolen glance?
2) Maidservant as go-between?
3) Having sex with same maidservant? Frowned upon or accepted?
4) How to exchange poetry? In a letter? On a wall? On a fan? Written on a leaf and sent floating down the stream?

People often don’t realize that just having nuclear warheads isn’t enough for a country to have effective nuclear deterrence. To achieve that, it also needs the right delivery systems, like ballistic missiles.

Given that China has the world’s largest coal consumption, I think this chart is likely an understatement.

"After Mao died in 1976 and Deng Xiaoping came to power in 1978..."

Deng Xiaoping actually came to power in 1977, when he became the First Vice Premier of the State Council and the Chief of the General Staff of the PLA. In 1978, there were no changes to his positions.

The People's Daily, November 5, 1961: "In the United States, 17 million people go to bed hungry every night. In one out of every ten American households, the diet is inadequate, often falling below two-thirds of the minimum nutritional standard."

By the way, the position of Chief of Staff of the PLA has always been a dangerous one. After 1949, those who held the position, including Su Yu, Huang Kecheng, Luo Ruiqing, Yang Chengwu, and Huang Yongsheng, were all "purged," until Deng Xiaoping ended this curse in 1975.
In 1967, General Yang Chengwu, the PLA’s Deputy Chief of Staff, wrote a short biography to express his loyalty to Marshal Lin Biao, the PRC’s Minister of Defense. Just a year later, under Lin Biao’s orders, Yang was arrested and stripped of all his positions.😂
