I’m not saying it WAS. I’m saying that’s how it felt. The whole game he seemed to have no hope, no positivity; he was more excited about the Brewers. And yes, I know it’s because the team hasn’t been playing well but it felt out of character for a booth that usually seems to cheer the team along.

I’m definitely not. I’ve been a Mets fan for the better part of 40 years and I know what it’s all about. However it just felt very…relieved. Like the plan the whole time was to be happy when they lost. There didn’t seem to be sadness or upset in his tone, and we’ve heard it from Gary before.

I’d just hoped they matched the energy of the fans. And Keith and Ron did, to an extent. But in my eyes Gary certainly felt like he was just happy it was all over.

I wasn’t asking for glazing the players — lord knows they didn’t deserve it — but maybe just have a little bit more…heartbreak, like the rest of us? I’m disappointed, we all are, but who actually wants to hear someone sound almost *happy* at this conclusion?

Oh, absolute same I just feel like the last few weeks — and today in particular — they were ready to just pack it all up and go home. Now is it because they’re tired and disappointed? Sure. But it still felt completely out of place and almost insulting.
