The minute an American soldier kills a European or the other way around - we are in totally unprecedented and uncharted territory. One thing I don’t think Trump and co have considered is at some point, even if they don’t want to - EU govts will have to act as their people will demand it.

As a European, and a consistent left wing voter - we were taught one thing in Europe. Purity politics is fine, good even - UNLESS there are actual fascists about to get elected. In that case, you put a peg on your nose and vote for anyone who will stop the fascists. Americans need to learn this.

It should be a reminder: Being lawless, immoral, and violent does not make the Trumpists omnipotent. Obscuring that distinction is an act of defeatism that only serves the regime.
