always strange to witness anyone coming to an artist's personal art to complain "your experiences aren't universal" or "the world doesn't revolve around you." we're aware of that. my art does revolve around me, though. it is from my perspective and i made it for me. you should make some art for you.

Closing rural post offices will do the same thing that closing rural schools has done: Empty out rural towns.
Why? To sell off farmland for rock bottom prices to the oligarchs. Water and mineral rights and CAFOs polluting with impunity.

I know I wrote the right story because I feel excited as hell anytime I open it up, even re-reading it yet again for some extra polish. No. It's not all roses, rainbows, and unicorns. It took a while. I had lots of lows while writing it, too. But that core joy persists. That's the shit that matters.

Not everything is going to hit. Your writing, art, posts, whatever. But the great success of one thing you did doesn't invalidate something that maybe didn't perform up to an unfair expectation. Things easily fluctuate. Luck happens. It's valid feeling discouraged, but just keep swinging that axe.
