Blue buttons jellies float at the oceans surface, like little animal flowers, living between sea and sky. There are millions of them out there right now, and most will live their whole lives without even being seen by a human.

Despite the hard things, the world is still wondrous.

Who is buying these, is this a prank on rich people and tradwives

Just the kind of word you want to see on the appliances you cook food with

seeing corporate outlets repeatedly refer to ICE beating the shit out of protesters as “clashes” may be the thing that sends me over the edge

if you can’t use language to reflect very straightforward power differentials then maybe you shouldn’t be in the language business.

In April 2024, Spotify implemented a new scheme: songs with less than 1k streams per year would no longer receive royalties.

The data for 2025 was just released via Luminate, and 88% of songs have been demonetized.

Read it again: 88% of songs on Spotify have been demonetized.

Nonstop rain here today - little chance of sunlight!
Whatever your weather, have a good day, take care. 🌱

I would love to be a casual sex person if I was wired for it but I would have to card people or only date people with visible crow’s feet because everyone under the age of 30 is starting to look 17 to me

This is a bit of a reach but maybe someone can help? My mom's house caught fire last month and she lost pretty much everything. While most things aren't important and easy to replace, her favorite painting is really hard to find. It was a reproduction of Helen Frankenthaler's Sunset Corner

A last minute reprieve! A young maiden in leopard pants has daringly claimed the errant knight! I told her she can still keep the appt to ✂️if she wanted and gave her all the deets, we’ll see lol

I love scene setting without doing pages of text. I love the shit out of well-placed subtle (and unsubtle) symbolism. I enjoy writing characters who won't say what they mean and forcing them to betray themselves in other ways. I enjoy writing sex & violence, I'm good at one and decent at the other.
Artists, I think we're all too comfortable sharing our imposter syndrome.

I would love to see you step out of your comfort zone and confidently state what you think you're actually really good at.

No self deprecation, just what you think you're the strongest at

Is anyone brave eniough? 👀

this world cup surely cannot go ahead. this country is all kinds of fucked up right now. other countries' teams + fans, if they can even get into the US, face the risk of being rounded up by goons, brutalised and disappeared. what might happen to you if your country beats the US team. seriously.
The Trump administration has suspended US visa processing for 75 countries, including numerous World Cup 2026 qualifiers (underlined) ahead of the tournament co-hosted by the USA this summer.

1. no internet at home
2. graphic novel boom had not yet happened
3. if your parents were 'weird' about comic books for whatever reason most of those seemed 'innocuous' enough

though we did occasionally get banned from reading Calvin and Hobbes if they thought we were getting a little TOO inspired
why did so many millennials read so many newspaper comics? easily 60 percent of my reading diet in elementary/middle school was collected editions of calvin and hobbes, farside, dilbert, peanuts, doonesbury (!), foxtrot (?!?) and i know im not alone. historically unique phenomenon
rather than talk about Scott Adams I want to talk about something weirder (me). Who else was really into Dilbert when you were 12. Who else was like, boy, I can't wait to work a cubicle job
