“Just works off the shelf” (existing API libraries, don’t have to write the app itself, preconfigured VM images ready to go) is a really big advantage!

It’s obsessively optimized down to the hardware level, designed to work efficiently with the CPU cache. Byte for byte, you can expect it to fetch data faster than Node. It’s also more consistent, since it can’t be interrupted (single-threaded and no garbage collection).
