“I know that there are some people in this room who don’t believe that my marriage should have been legal … and that’s ok. Because we’re all Americans who want lower taxes.”

They’re just gonna do a little lite slavery.
In addition, the new rule allows farm employers to charge H-2A workers for their housing, which was not allowed before. "It's a way for employers to continue to house workers and also charge them, and bring down effective wages," said Marcos Lopez of the Labor and Community Center at the University of California, Davis.

That's what they've been doing, to the point that people on here constantly yell at them for being too narrowly focused on these issues.
Once again, I’m wondering why Democrats aren’t running with a straightforward message of “despotism is un-American and unaffordable” right now and all the way into the midterms.

Presidents have federalized a state's own Guard to use over its objection, most famously desegregation. And sometimes regular military has been used. But taking one state's soldiers and putting them in another state? This is a completely unprecedented breakdown of what the Union fundamentally is.

we have an electric car (Ioniq 6) and we pay pennies when we do charge it and only have to charge it every 3-4 weeks

The cost of driving an EV is even cheaper in Alabama. And we’re starting to see more charging stations. The real milestone was when the Auburn Buc-ee’s installed fast chargers.

Bondi is an immense fucking loser

Reuters photographer Jonathan Ernst noticed that Bondi flipped open a file during the Senate hearing and he zoomed in.

Inside were her crib notes for attacking the senators.

The GOP now practicing Cliff's Notes Fascism

In other words, under oath Bondi was purely a performance.

this from @risenc.bsky.social is really something (about Bari Weiss and her grift)
Nice. If I may add 2 cents: The real reason BW quit the Times was that as soon as Katie Kingsbury took over from James Bennet, she told her she could no longer commission and edit articles. She could only write. But commissioning articles was key to her grift. I mean literally. She promoted herself among certain circles as the key to getting into the Times. Which is one reason why I and others blocked so many of her commissioned pieces (one reason: they were also terrible). She said it was our deep ideological bias against conservatives. What so many of us found offensive about that is that our esprit de corps was based on not being ideologically biased (to a fault, if anything — pobody's nerfect). It was so obvious that it was all a grift, and that it would end badly, with her defenestrating all the people she had sucked up to.
