I’m in Paris for a week! 🇫🇷 My friend & I are eating crêpes, going to museums, shopping & exploring the city. The highlight today was going to the top of the Eiffel Tower. What a beautiful city! 🤩

For years, I’ve struggled with using ruby scripts to export observational coding data from Datavyu. But I am finally getting the hang of it! 🎉 Also I highly recommend having your scripts tell you that you’re amazing - it’s a nice confidence boost. ☺️

Love it! When my daughter was about 4 yrs old, I would take her to the women’s BB games at my institution to show her women being strong & athletic. Then one day we saw the women’s & men’s teams together at Chipotle. She said to me, “but why are there boys?” She didn’t know men could play BB too! ☺️

In 2022, Gabrielle Strouse & I gratefully received an NIH R15 grant to study grandparent-grandchild interactions over video chat. We've completed our study with 186 triads participating & today is the last day of our grant funding! We'll be presenting and publishing from this dataset for years. 🎉

Today I did the following:
✅modified a ruby script to export from Datavyu
✅imported data into R & pivoted wider
✅ran a Kappa and passed the .80 reliability threshold
✅ran Crosstabs for a matrix of coder decisions
✅output successfully knitted at the end
🎉🎉🎉

Paid off the last of $58k of student loans today, which I’ve been paying monthly for the past 17 years! 🎉 🤩 Thankful for my wonderful education & low interest rates of the 2000s, and angry at today’s student loan rates & ballooning college tuition rates. 🤯
